Mental Health Skills Training (MHST)
If you are an Australian GP, you are able to access the additional mental health MBS item numbers (2715 and 2717) by completing the Mental Health Skills Training (Modular Pathway), which requires both the Mental Health Skills Training Core Module and a separate Clinical Enhancement Module to be completed. Please make sure that you have entered your RACGP or ACRRM registration number in your ThinkGP profile as this is required to upload your completions to your college. Additionally, please ensure your Medicare provider number is registered with your college to ensure the MBS access is allocated correctly. Please see instructions for RACGP members here, and ACRRM members should directly contact their college. Upon completion of a MHST activity ThinkGP will upload your activity completion to your college, and no action is required on your part. Upon completion of both the Core Module and Clinical Enhancement Module, your training will then be reported to Medicare by the General Practice Mental Health Standards Collaboration (GPMSHC). For more information on how this reporting process works, please review the guide here. If you have any queries or issues regarding this process, please email the GPMHSC at mentalhealth@racgp.org.au. |
