This 2-hour module provides a practical approach to the diagnosis and management of dementia. The module explores the three stages of dementia, and the goals of care for each stage, through interactive case studies and video content. Participants will learn how to diagnose dementia in the general practice setting and how to develop and implement effective management plans.

On completion of this education activity participants will be able to:
  • Explain the difference between normal ageing and dementia.
  • Identify and diagnose dementia in the general practice setting.
  • Modify risk factors that impact on the progression of dementia.
  • Develop and implement an effective management plan for people living with dementia at different stages of the disease.
  • Assist people with dementia, their families and careers access appropriate resources and information.
