Meningococcal disease in infants, children and adolescents can progress rapidly, making prevention and early recognition critical.  Presented by Prof Paul Griffin, this session will provide GPs with the latest Australian epidemiology, including current serogroups and invasive disease trends. Learn about vaccine recommendations and types, vaccine considerations across different states, and gain confidence in recognising red flags and when to instigate urgent medical attention.

    Learning outcomes

By completing this learning activity, participants will be able to:
Identify the early signs and symptoms of meningococcal disease in children, and when to escalate to urgent medical attention
