Acne affects over 80% of teenagers, but a significant number of people continue to experience acne or develop new-onset acne in later life. In light of the considerable psychological morbidity and personal and social difficulties acne can cause, learn how to provide early and effective treatment to minimise the impact of this common condition in this dermatologist-led video module.

On completion of this educational activity participants will be able to:
  • Explain the importance of managing acne early and effectively.
  • Outline the main pathogenic factors that cause acne and relate these to the mode of action of acne treatments.
  • Explain why fixed-dose combination topical treatments are guideline-recommended first-line treatments in mild-to-moderate acne.
  • Individualise mild-to-moderate acne treatment through considering and assessing personal and clinical factors.
