Live webinar: Pharmacotherapy for overweight and obesity

Almost two thirds of adults in Australia live with overweight or obesity, and excess weight is the second leading contributor to Australia’s health burden.1 Lifestyle and behavioural interventions are the cornerstone of treatment in obesity however only a minority of people experience sustainable, long-term weight loss with those interventions alone.2 Australian and international obesity management guidelines therefore recommend a multicomponent approach to obesity care that includes pharmacotherapies in selected patients.3,4

Presented by GP Conjoint A/Prof Chee Khoo, this webinar reviews latest developments in weight loss pharmacotherapy and explores practical considerations around using medications as an adjunct to healthy behaviour change in the long-term management of overweight and obesity.
