Pharmacological therapies are central to both the prevention of heart failure in high risk groups and the ongoing management of existing HF. This module covers the evidence-based pharmacological therapies for heart failure and the management of the risk of HF progression.

By completing this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the management goals for patients with heart failure.
  • Control HF risk in high-risk patient groups.
  • Understand the difference in management between HFrEF and HFpEF.
  • Prescribe pharmacological treatment for HF based on current clinical guidelines.
