This one-hour module seeks to improve management of patients with Parkinson’s disease in primary care, focussing on identifying whether motor and non-motor symptoms are well controlled, taking appropriate steps to manage symptoms, and recognising the importance of specialist referral.
Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is the most effective bio-medical form of HIV prevention, and trials across Australia have shown a dramatic decrease in new HIV infection in those at risk of HIV. This module provides an overview of PrEP, and includes a patient case study to help GPs familiarise themselves with taking a sexual health history prescribing PrEP, and providing patient education.
Advance care planning is an essential part of providing patient-centred care in line with a person's goals, beliefs and preferences, especially in later life. This module covers the key aspects of creating an advance care plan, the selection of a substitute decision-maker, and the legal frameworks surrounding advance care plans.
